4. Graphics

Real-time graphics — tickers, lower-thirds, augmented reality, full studio environments — are generated by systems such as VIZRT and triggered live, frame-accurately, in step with the rundown.

5. Playout and transmission

Finally, playout automation sends the finished programme to air on schedule, integrating video servers, graphics, and automation so content reaches transmission exactly when it should.
